Hold Your Heart ~ poetry by Leesa Love

Hold Your Heart ~ poetry by Leesa Love

Hold Your Heart

I want to hold your heart
turn it upside down
Give it a good shake
and watch all the pain, sorrow, and regret
Topple out

When your heart is all emptied
I want to turn it right side-up
And pour myself into it
Until it overflows like the brim of a cup!

And if you’ll let me, I’ll take care of you
And never reject me, then
Then I’ll know my past does not define me
And I am free

Free to love and be loved again!
